Chair of YABLOKO Federal Political Committee Grigory Yavlinsky has had a meeting with politician Alexei Navalny today. The coming State Duma election campaign became the subject of the meeting.

The politicians discussed the possibility of dividing the single mandate constituencies between YABLOKO and Navalny’s supportes and reached mutual understanding. They also discussed the political strategy and ways of cooperation during the campaign. They are going to maintain contact.

The negotiations between Alexei Navalny and YABLOKO have been taking place for several weeks. Earlier Navalny had a meeting with the members of YABLOKO’s talks group Sergei Ivanenko, Sergei Mitrokhin and Lev Shlosberg.

The incumbent [independent] deputy of the State Duma Dmitry Gudkov, former co-Chair of PARNAS Vladimir Ryzhkov, co-founder of Dissernet (online group dedicated to exposing intellectual fraud) Andrei Zayakin, one of the leaders of the December 5th Party Yulia Galyamina, ex-Mayor of Petrozavodsk Galina Shirshina and other prominent public figures have declared their intention to run for the State Duma as YABLOKO’s candidates and have supported the party Memorandum of Political Aleternative.

The decision on nomination of the party electoral list and candidates in single-mandate constituencies will be made at the pre-election congress which will take place in the middle of June.
