Grigory Yavlinsky: a system built on lies will collapse
Grigory Yavlinsky post in the FB, 7.06.2016
Forum “The New Era of Journalism: Farewell to the Mainstream” [is being held] in Moscow. I wonder what do they mean by a “farewell to the mainstream”? Whether it is goodbye to the endless lies in the mass media or the final farewell to the truth?
Vladimir Putin speaking at the forum noted that if you do not like some kind of information, it should not be labelled “propaganda serving some political groups”.
In my opinion, it is not the matter whether you “like” it or not, what matters is whether the information is true or false. This is the main criterion. If it is true, then it serves the people, if it is a lie, then it serves a “group” or a bad government.
I do not know what do they mean by a “new era of journalism”, but I see that the official Russian journalism has been functioning, unfortunately, according to the old Soviet rules – lying on order or command. The “new era” means only that the border was washed out on purpose: many of “journalists” can not already distinguish the truth from lies. Such a system, as well as all built on lies, will collapse. It is only a matter of time.
