FSB threatens to kill Mikhail Savva

YABLOKO leader Sergei Mitrokhin came to court to support human rights defender and director of a regional NGO Professor Mikhail Savva on November 21.
Mikhail Savva is charged with two cases of fraud, including embezzlement of a regional administration’s grant amounting to 366,000 roubles (approx. Euro 8,306.4). Professor Savva denies all the allegations and claims that the trial against him is aiming at discrediting NGOs.
YABLOKO leader published the details of his talk with Mikhail Savva in his blog on Echo Moskvi.
Prof. Savva told Sergei Mitrokhin that FSB agents exert pressure on him and threaten to fabricate a new criminal case on treason against him. The threatens are based on the grounds that Prof. Savva had connections with foreign journalists and experts.
According to Mikhail Savva, FSB agents threatened to kill him in case he refuses to give false testimony.
“Your sentence is already passed and it will be prison. You will be killed there”.
FSB agents said, that Savva will be charged with treason as well.
In June 2013, when the hearing on the restrain was conducted, Savva’s family and journalist were not allowed in the courtroom. The police harmed Savva’s daughter’s finger when she tried to get in to greet her father.
