Electoral Commission cetified YABLOKO’s list of candidates for the elections to Leningrad Region Legislative Assembly
Today the Electoral Commission of the Leningrad Region has made a decision to cetify YABLOKO’s list of candidates for the elections to the Leningrad Region Legislative Assembly.
“We are intended to conduct an active election campaign and plan to receive at least 12 per cent of votes and form a faction in the Legislative Assembly. Our candidates, who will win in the single-mandate constituencies, may form part of the faction,” said YABLOKO Deputy Chair Nikolai Rybakov, who headed the list. The second and the third place on the list went to deputy of the Legislative Assembly, trade union leader Alexei Etmanov and environmental journalist, chair of the regional party branch Lina Zernova.
Writer Ivan Prokudin, activist Alexander Ivanovo, journalist Elena Vinokurova, entrepreneur Anton Gorduk, lawyer Andrei Makarkin, activist Anatoly Kanukov, activist Svetlana Stosh, investigator Ilya Lopatko, activist Yekaterina Shokhina also entered the list.
The list of candidates represents a coalition of democrats since one third of the candidates are non-members of YABLOKO.
“About 90 per cent of our candidates have a higher education. A quarter of the candidates are women,” Lina Zernova commented.
The elections will take place on the single voting day, September 18.
