Court fined Sergei Mitrokhin for picket with the demand to dismiss head of the Chechen Republic

Today, on 1 March, judge of the Tverskoi District Court Elena Bulgakova has sentenced member of YABLOKO Federal Political Committee Sergei Mitrokhin to 10.000 rubles fine for participation in a picket for resignation of Ramzan Kadyrov, head of Chechnya. Mitrokhin’s lawyer Boris Mamatov will appeal against the decision in the superior court.
Sergei Mitrokhin and two party activists were detained on 26 January during the picket for resignation of Ramzan Kadyrov held by the Administration of President of Russia. They were charged with violation of the established order of organisation or holding meetings, rallies, demonstrations, marches or pickets (Article 20.2 of the Administrative Violations Code). Sergei Mitrokhin was arrested in the very beginning of the action immediately after he unfolded the poster on the police demand.
On 11 February, Tverskoi District Court sent the case back to the police department for revision.
