Chuvashia Republic branch of Yabloko holds a discussion on the consequences of political censorship

The Chuvashia Republic branch of Yabloko held a round table on the consequences of political censorship in mass media. Representative of other political parties and public groups also took part in the discussion.
According to the participants of the discussion, the constitutional right to receive, pass, produce and disseminate information in a legal way is being constantly violated. Censorship prevents an open discussion of social and political issues I the media. It creates the environment for corruption, fraud, arbitrary rule and human rights violations.
The participants of the round table believe that activists should use the Internet more efficiently to promote their agenda in order to fight censorship.
They adopted an address to the regional authorities demanding that political censorship in Russia must be put to an end.
