Chair of St.Petersburg branch of YABLOKO removed from the elections
Chair of St.Petrsburg branch of YABLOKO Andrei Palevich was denied registration at the municipal elections in two districts at the same time.
In both cases the decisions were taken on unlawful grounds. The election comission of the Krasnenkaya rechka district claimed that the first financil report was missing. A crowd of provocateurs blocked the door of the comission which prevented Andrei Palevich from entering the building and bringing the document. Then the provocateurs awaited YABLOKO activists in a bank department.
The election comission of the Dachny district claimed they didn’t receive a copy of the financil report in electronic format though Palevich had sent it beforehand. Seven of nine YABLOKO’s candidates were also denied registration.
“An organised crime group resists the opposition candidates. When the candidates are prevented from entering the election comissions building by unlawful methods one should understand that the citizens are pushed away from the control of the authorities and budget”, said Andrei Palevich.
Andrei Palevich has been elected deputy of the Dachny district three times running. He is one of the leaders of the local residents who fights against the so called “renovation” of quarters which actually turned into infill construction.
The Krasnenkaya rechka and Dachny districts have become the flagman of municipal elections fraud. Exactly here the rats “ate” the ballot papers (Andrei Palevich managed to cancel the election results in court then) in 2004. In 2011 Valentina Matveyenko became deputy of the Krasnenkaya rechka at the elections which were announced only the next day the registration for candidates was finished.
