Maya Baidakova, deputy head of the legal department in the Council of Deputies of Yakimanka District in Moscow and a candidate for Moscow municipal deputies, was arrested for ten days under Article 20.3 of the Administrative Offences Code (“demonstration of extremist symbols”). The accusation under this article deprives a politician of the opportunity to run for election.
Maya Baidakova was detained yesterday at the same time as Andrei Morev, head of the Yakimanka municipal district and Deputy Chair of the Moscow Yabloko, who is also charged with Article 20.3 of the Administrative Offenses Code. Baidakova was taken to the Tagansky police department, where she was kept until the morning of today, and later she was taken to the Tagansky Court.
The Judge found Maya Baidakova guilty. The punishment is ten days of arrest.
Yesterday, the same judge found Andrei Morev guilty of “discrediting the army” and imposed a fine of 50,000 roubles.
