Boris Misnik, Coordinator of the Yabloko Federal Political Committee and State Duma deputy of the second convocation, passed away

Boris Grigorievich Misnik, Coordinator of the Federal Political Committee of the Yabloko Party, died aged 83, following a serious and long illness on 4 December.
Boris Misnik was born at the Imandra station in the Murmansk region on 30 July, 1938. He graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Water Transport Engineers.
Until 1984, he worked in engineering and managerial positions in the Krasnoyarsk river port, the Monchegorsk department of Sevzapmontazhavtomatika, and the Severonikel plant in the Murmansk region.
1984-1991 – Chairman of the trade union committee of the Severonikel plant.
1991-1996 – Chairman of the Mining and Metallurgical Trade Union of Russia.
Member of the Constitutional Conference (1993), deputy of the State Duma of the second convocation from the Yabloko faction, Chairman of the Committee on the Problems of the North and the Far East (1995-1999).
Since 2001, he has been a member of the governing bodies of the Yabloko party. In 2004-2008 managed the headquarters of the party.
Since 2008, he has been the long-time Coordinator of the Federal Political Committee of the party.
Civil funeral rite will take place at the Yabloko office (Moscow, Pyatnitskaya 31, bldg. 2) on 7 December from 10:00 to 12:00.
