Another attack on David Kankia, Coordinator of the election observers movement Golos in the Krasnodar Territory

Two unidentified persons whose faces were hidden by hoods attacked David Kankia, Coordinator of the election observers movement Golos in the Krasnodar Territory, on May 18 at about 1 p.m.
When David went into the entrance of his house, he was attacked by two robust men whose faces were masked. They silently beat the activist on the head and back. After David fell, the men splashed a pepper spray in his face.
Neighbours called the police and ambulance.
David Kankia’s friends arrived at the scene. Yevgeny Vitishko, head of the Krasnodar branch of the Yabloko party, who also came, said that the yard is equipped with CCTV cameras, and the attackers probably got caught in the lens. The residents of the house where Kankia lives also saw the attackers.
According to Vitishko, the pressure on Kankia began during presidential election campaign and continues to this day.
Kankia himself associates the attack on him with his professional activities. On May 18, Kankia, who is a political scientist, was to go to an international conference.
