Albert Khusainov: Chernobyl and coronavirus. What is in common?
Albert Khusainov blog post, 27.04.2020
We are commemorating a tragic event – the Chernobyl disaster. The day of the accident at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant on April 26 is now the International Day of Remembrance for the Victims of Radiation Accidents and Disasters.
This year, members of the Yabloko party in Bashkiria will not be able to hold the rally they planned, lay floral tributes and light memorial candles in Ufa at the monument to the victims of the Chernobyl tragedy and will not hold pickets in the cities of Bashkiria on the occasion of a terrible date in the history of our country and of all mankind.
We will commemorate the dead firefighters and liquidators of the accident and wish health to the survivors, each of us separately, in our apartments.
The reason for the refusal of memorial public actions, as you know, is a new misfortune – the coronavirus pandemic.
There is a mystical relationship of these two tragic events. These are not the machinations of “dark forces”, as say the leaders of the country and regions who rush to justify themselves.
I believe that the reasons that unite these gloomy events are, first, negligence of people living on the planet Earth, leaders and actors, in their actions and universal mismanagement, neglect of technological duties before people and nature, disrespect for the nature and hygiene of our planet.
The second reason is the lack of self-discipline regarding the purity of one’s thoughts and actions.
Hence we have explosions, fires, chemical, radiation and bacteriological hotspots, viruses and epidemics. Plus ongoing wars.
Therefore, it is necessary to change the attitude towards oneself, people and nature in the direction of goodwill, efficiency and responsibility.
Eternal memory to those who died from the Chernobyl disaster and from the current coronavirus infection! Take care! Take care of relatives, friends and people! Take care of the environment! Stay healthy!
