Activists of St. Petersburg YABLOKO detained for a picket by the penal colony in Karelia

On 4 November, police detained eight people during single-person picketing by Penal Colony No 7 in Segezha, notoriously famous for torturing civil activist Ildar Dadin. Activists of St. Petersburg Youth YABLOKO Ilya Smirnov and Konstantin Pokhilchuk were among the detained.
The activists came out with placards “No to tortures of prisoners”, “Russia will be free” and other. Five protesters stood with posters in 50 meters of each other as required by law for single person pickets, and the other stood at the entrance.
According to the OVD-Info, the detainees are charged with Part 5 of Article 20.2 of the Administrative Code (violation of the order of conducting a public event).
Earlier, YABLOKO had issued a statement demanding an end to the torture of Ildar Dadin and Moscow Youth YABLOKO conducted picketing demanding stop tortures of Dadin.
