A new book by Evgeny Bunimovich launched in YABLOKO’s office

On June 11, a new book by Evgeny Bunimovich, Moscow Ombudsman for Children, YABLOKO Political Committee member, ex deputy of the Moscow City Duma and teacher of mathematics, entitled “When the sky was laid with asphalt” was launched at YABLOKO’s main office. The book was entitled after the first line of his poem written in 1980s.

At the beginning of the presentation Evgeny Bunimovich said that he had refused to launch the book at the Moscow international books festival which was to take place the next day, on June 12.
Since the organisers of the festival refused to put on several plays, a number of organisations including the Memorial human rights group refused to participate in the festival.
The hall was full. Evgeny Bunimovich spoke about his life, works and read poems aloud. The participants of the meeting had an opportunity to talk to the writer.
