YABLOKO leader Sergei Mitrokhin has sent an appeal to Anatoly Yakunin, head of the Moscow interior, demanding to that he should take the investigation of beating of Moscow municipal deputy Sergei Dorofeyev under his personal control.

Sergei Dorofeyev was beaten by the underground crossing at Leninsky Prospekt 41/2 on 24 March. Dorofeyev believes that the attack on him was connected with his work on the investigation of spending of budget funds for maintenance and repairs of the underground crossing.

The attacker was obviously connected with an employee of GBU Gormost which has been implementing the repairs: the attacker instructed a person in a jacket with a name sign V.A. Sopkin and the logo of Gormost.

The attacker knew that Sergei Dorofeyev was a municipal deputy as the latter introduced himself and asked the workers why they were conducting dusty works in a day time so that people using the underground crossing were suffocating with construction dust and it was the second year of the repairs. After that beating began.

In addition yesterday Dorofeyev sent an inquiry to the head of the municipality V. Klokov asking how much budget money was spent on such “repairs”.

Sergey Dorofeyev described the incident in his Facebook page and posted photos.

“Given that the attack on Sergei Dorofeyev was obviously related to his work as a municipal deputy of the district, I am asking you to take the investigation under your personal control”, runs Sergei Mitrokhin’s statement.
