Claim against YABLOKO’s deputy
Izvestia, Press Release, July 2, 2013
Member of Opposition Coordination Council Nicolay Bondarik filed a claim against deputy of St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly from the YABLOKO faction Boris Vishnevsky for protection of honour, dignity and business reputation. Bondarik was outraged by the fact that Vishnevsky called him a fascist in his blog.
“It’s an insult! I’ve never been a fascist, it’s not true. I’m a nationalist and a monarchist. It’s not one and the same thing. Besides, he [Boris Vishnrvsky] is a well-known person, deputy of the Legislative Assembly. Thousands of people read his blog. He must strain what he writes or speaks about”, resented Bondarik.
Vishnevsky said he was not going to deny anything and hadn’t made a mistake when called Bondarik a fascist.
“My opinion is settled and his views can be called only fascist. And his reputation is the following, so I’ve done no damage to it”, underlined Vishnevsky.
YABLOKO supported Boris Vishnevsky and leader of YABLOKO Sergei Mitrokhin promised to support him in every way.
“Vishnevsky used not a very exact concept, but on the whole it is true. Bondarik was suspected in several murder cases, took part in creation of paramilitary units. Perhaps Boris Vishnevsky went too far, but on the whole he is right. Exactly this type of people was the main body of the fascist movement in Italy and Nazi in Germany”, said Mitrokhin.
