The second lecture of the new term at the Yabloko Party University will be given by journalist, writer and Candidate of Philological Sciences Nadezhda Azhgikhina. Her lecture, “Journalism: Power, Mirror or Handmaiden?”, will take place at the party’s central office on 11 November.
What are the main milestones and key trends in the development of Russian journalism? How did free voices emerge in an unfree country in different eras? What lessons from the press of the perestroika period are important to remember today? Globalisation, isolation, professional standards, solidarity, and international experience. What is the future of the profession in the era of “post-truth” and AI?
Together with the lecturer, participants will look for answers to these and other questions.
To take part, please register.
Nadezhda Azhgikhina’s lecture will take place at the Yabloko office (Moscow, Pyatnitskaya 31, Building 2) on 11 November at 7 pm.
The schedule of upcoming Party University lectures is available on the Yabloko website.
