At a meeting on 16 July, the Federal Bureau of the Yabloko party nominated four more candidates for the State Duma in single-mandate constituencies in the Moscow and Novgorod Regions. This brought the total number of single-mandate constituencies in which the party has nominated candidates to 141.
The law allows political parties, once they have held their pre-election congress, to additionally nominate candidates in single-mandate constituencies, provided the candidates are already included in the federal list.
Also on 16 July, the candidates’ documents are due to be submitted to the Central Election Commission of Russia (CEC). The CEC is expected to decide on certifying these candidates at a meeting on 18 July.
It should be noted that at its pre-election Congress on 27 June Yabloko nominated 275 candidates on the federal list and 137 candidates in single-mandate constituencies. One candidate was excluded from the list by the CEC for technical reasons, and another was withdrawn for personal reasons. As a result, the party’s federal list now comprises 273 candidates.
