At its session on 10 July, Russia’s Central Electoral Commission (CEC) certified Yabloko’s federal list of candidates for the State Duma elections, as well as its list of candidates for single-mandate constituencies.
Only one candidate was excluded from Yabloko’s federal list. By comparison, four candidates were excluded from the LDPR’s list, three from the Communist Party’s, and one each from United Russia’s and New People’s.
In addition, the CEC registered Yabloko’s authorised representatives. The party’s financial representatives will be registered at a later date, after which the CEC will take a decision on opening an election account for the party.
Following the commission’s vote to certify the party’s list, Yabloko Chairman Nikolai Rybakov addressed members of the CEC:
“These elections are undoubtedly special for us and for the whole country. Yabloko is contesting them with the shortest platform we have ever had, which is extremely unusual for us: just 43 words. We are standing for peace, for a life without fear, and for a flourishing democratic Russia. And if, as a result of these elections, we manage to bring peace even one day closer and stop the loss of life, then all these sleepless nights and this enormous effort will not have been in vain.”
Certification of the list is a mandatory stage of the election campaign following the review of the documents submitted by the party for the nomination of candidates. The CEC confirmed that the nomination procedure had been complied with, and that the lists submitted met the requirements for proceeding to the next stage.
The CEC will now begin a full review of the candidates’ documents. Following this review, the electoral commission will decide on the registration of the federal list and of the candidates for single-mandate constituencies. Only after registration will Yabloko be officially admitted to participate in the State Duma elections.
It should be noted that Yabloko nominated 275 candidates on its federal list and 137 candidates for single-mandate constituencies for the elections to the State Duma. Yabloko has taken part in every State Duma election since 1993 and is the only democratic, peace-seeking party contesting the 2026 elections.
