The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has identified technical issues in Yabloko’s documents. They concern 19 of the 275 candidates on the federal list and six of the 137 candidates in single-mandate constituencies.
The party will submit the necessary clarifications by 8 July. Consideration of the certification of Yabloko’s federal candidate list and its list of single-mandate constituency candidates has been scheduled for a CEC meeting on 10 July.
CEC Chair Ella Pamfilova expressed confidence that the party would swiftly amend the technical issues identified.
Yabloko’s CEC representative Ivan Bolshakov noted that the issues raised were technical in nature and unavoidable given the tight deadlines and large volume of documents involved in their preparation.
According to him, inaccuracies had been found in the information provided by 19 candidates on the federal list and six candidates in single-mandate constituencies, or documents were incomplete relating to education, marriage, place of registration, party membership and other details. In addition, the CEC raised one general point regarding the exact number of party members on the federal list.
“As we expected, the overwhelming majority of the issues raised can be easily amended and do not affect the registration of the list. The CEC has given the party time to clarify the information by 8 July. We will promptly make the necessary corrections and hope that the ballot paper will feature the line ‘For Peace and Freedom’,” Ivan Bolshakov emphasised.
