On 16 December, the Moscow office of the Yabloko party will host a second meeting with political scientist Nina Khrushcheva, timed to coincide with the release of her book “Nikita Khrushchev: a Leader Outside the System”. In September of this year, the Yabloko office could not accommodate everyone who wanted to come to the book launch.
The new biography of the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union was written by a scholar who perceives the history of the Russian state in the context of her family history. The author’s personality, coupled with her professional background, provides depth and sincerity in the description of the political developments in which Nikita Khrushchev was a participant.
Nikita Khrushchev was a brilliant leader who developed in inhumanly difficult political conditions, but nevertheless managed to change the vector of development of the Soviet state. His life provides valuable food for thought not only for those interested in Russia’s past, but also for those who think about its future.
A meeting with political scientist Nina Khrushcheva, Nikita Khrushchev’s granddaughter, and a launch of her book will take place in the Yabloko party office in Moscow (Pyatnitskaya 31, building 2) on 16 December at 19:00.
