The Conference of the Moscow branch of the Yabloko party decided to nominate seven Yabloko candidates for the snap elections of municipal deputies in the Kurkino district of Moscow. Each of the candidates will have to collect 14 signatures of district residents in support of their nomination by 10 August. The candidates will conduct a campaign under the slogan “For Peace and Freedom! For the Ceasefire Agreement!”.
Yabloko nominated the following candidates:

Earlier, the authorities decided not to allow candidates from Yabloko to participate in the elections to the Moscow City Duma. However, Yabloko decided not to leave Muscovites alone with the pro-government United Russia party in Kurkino, Kirill Goncharov, a former candidate for deputy of the Moscow City Duma and Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Yabloko, said.
“We are nominating seven candidates. Two of them are already established politicians, former candidates in the elections to the Moscow City Duma – Maria Chuprina and Yevgeny Lyapin. Five are young people who are just starting out on their path, but who have already proven themselves in my election headquarters this year. Each of them agrees that the most important thing now is peace and freedom. This should be discussed even at the municipal elections in Kurkino. We are going to the elections with this agenda,” Kirill Goncharov stressed.
“Despite the fact that the elections to the Moscow City Duma are over for Yabloko, we continue to work with the city residents. Now the voice of “For Peace and Freedom” continues to sound in the municipal campaign. Seven young people will participate in it with our main political demand. We are thankful for them for their willingness to take on this work. May they succeed,” Maxim Kruglov, Deputy Chairman of Moscow Yabloko and current Moscow City Duma deputy, commented
Municipal elections in Moscow will be held on a single voting day, 8 September.
