Nikolai Rybakov: There should be no political prisoners in Russia and they should all be released
Nikolai Rybakov’s Telegram blog post, 1.08.2024
Freedom for people who have not committed any crimes, those who have advocated for a better future for the country can only be welcomed.
But in principle, there should be no political prisoners in Russia and they should all be released.
A different point of view is beneficial to the country. Only those who do not want their country to benefit and develop, who identify the country with themselves and their class, can see grounds for persecution in criticism.
Selective application of articles of the law is unacceptable, when damage to the state is determined by the degree of offense that certain actions caused to officials.
State structures are discredited by incorrectly set tasks, poor management and corruption, rather than by statements in interviews or drawings in public places.
We fought for the freedom of political prisoners who were released today, among them are our friends and colleagues, supporters of Yabloko, candidates in the elections from our party. We will continue to fight for the freedom of those who remain in captivity.
