Today, Novaya Gazeta is not only an example of high professionalism, fortitude and resilience, but also an example of patriotism in the best sense of the word. The key principle of the newspaper staff has always been the desire to tell the truth with the ultimate goal to make life in our country better.
The best recognition on the part of the Russian authorities of the importance of work of Novaya Gazeta was the revocation of its licence.
But Novaya Gazeta does not give up and continues to work against all odds under the leadership of Dmitry Muratov, a Nobel Peace laureate and longtime Yabloko member.
Next week Novaya Gazeta will celebrate its anniversary with a documentary film festival. It is entirely devoted to the newspaper, its important texts and its people. The programme includes nine documentaries that tell about the life of Novaya Gazeta and the life of the country in the recent decades. Join the festival and congratulate the newspaper on its birthday!
