On 12 December, the Russian Constitution Day, the Chelyabinsk regional branch of the Yabloko party invites all to take part in a discussion on the topic “A Police State or a Law-Governed State”. The discussion will be held in the office of the regional Yabloko branch at the address: Chelyabinsk, Lenin prospect 21v, office 707 (7th floor). The event starts at 18:00 local time.
The participants will discuss the difference between the two types of states along the following priorities: the state for the individual or the individual for the state. Supporters of the first approach are popularly called liberals, supporters of the opposite views are called supporters of etatism. According to the foundations of the Russian constitutional system, Russia is proclaimed to be a law-governed state (Article 1 of the Constitution of the Russian Federation). But is it really so? The Chelyabinsk branch of Yabloko invites all to a discussion.
