The central office of the Yabloko party in Moscow announces collection of humanitarian aid for Ukrainian refugees who are under the care of the Grazhdanskoye Sodeistviye (Civic Assistance) Committee. The action will last for two weeks. Our task is to collect and donate warm clothes and other things to those in need before the start of winter. If necessary, the period of collection will be extended.
We collect clothes and foodstuffs from the list below at the office of the Yabloko party at the address: Pyatnitskaya 31, building 2, which is open on weekdays from 09:00 to 20:00.
According to Civic Assistance Committee, more than 30 families come to the foundation’s office every day, i.e., about 100 people on the average. For six months, the Civic Assistance Committee has helped 1,900 families of refugees and migrants, of which more than 1,200 families are refugees from Ukraine (that is 3,500 people).
All of them need clothes, shoes, bedding and hygiene items, as well as food. People are especially in dire need of warm clothes with the onset of cold weather: jackets, hats, scarves and shoes.
What is needed:
Clothes and other things: clothes and shoes in good condition of any size for women, men and children, including newborns; bags, hats; bed linen, blankets; tableware; baby strollers, wheelchairs; stationery, etc.
Hygiene products: toothpastes; toothbrushes; soap; shampoos; sanitary pads for women; disposable razors, etc.;
Foodstuffs: cereals; pasta; canned food; oil; tea and coffee; infant formula; sugar, sweets.
Please bring clean and unstained clothing and shoes in good condition, ready to wear. This is important, since there is no possibility to wash clothes and repair them. Each item brought will fall into the hands of really needy people.
Humanitarian aid can also be brought to the Civic Assistance Committee. In addition, Russian citizens can help people the Committee takes care of by making a one-time or regular donation on the organisation’s website.
The Chairperson of the Civic Assistance Committee is Svetlana Gannushkina, the winner of the Anna Politkovskaya Prize by the international organisation Reach All Women in WAR, and a member of the Federal Political Committee of the Yabloko party. Svetlana Gannushkina also coordinated the Migration and Law legal aid programme at the Memorial Human Rights Centre.
