Judge of the Pskov City Court found Lev Shlosberg, a member of the Federal Political Committee of the Yabloko party and Chairman of the Pskov regional branch of Yabloko, guilty of committing an administrative offense under Article 20.3.3 Part 1 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation (“discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation”) for a video commentary on the Grazhdanin TV channel and imposed a fine of 32,000 roubles.
Lev Shlosberg writes in his Telegram channel that he intends to appeal the court’s decision.
It should be noted that for the first time Lev Shlosberg was found guilty of “discrediting the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation” on 18 April for publishing a five-second fragment of the First Channel broadcast with the participation of Marina Ovsyannikova. Zhanna Shlosberg, his wife and a Yabloko member, was also fined.
Complaints against the decisions of the Pskov City Court in the cases of Lev Shlosberg and Zhanna Shlosberg have been filed with the District Court. Dates of hearings in the District Court have not been set yet.
Ten members of Yabloko have already been brought to administrative responsibility under the article on “discrediting the armed forces of the Russian Federation”. Several more activists are waiting for the dates of courts’ hearings being set.
