The Ryazan branch of Yabloko: One of the main reasons for the failure of coronavirus vaccination in Ryazan is organisational chaos in the healthcare system
Press Release, 18.06.2021
On 16 June, Yelena Sorokina, the head of the Ryazan city administration, said that “unfortunately, the number of cases of coronavirus infection has not been decreasing in the city,” and asked “the heads of Ryazan enterprises to think over the ways of encouraging, for example, granting days off, to employees who took part in the vaccination”.
At the same time, Sorokina did not say anything about the quality of the vaccination campaign. The Ryazan branch of Yabloko notes that the credibility of this procedure has been seriously undermined by its bad organisation, which raises concerns among city residents.
A doctor is often absent during vaccinations. The nurses working at the vaccination, due to their busy schedule, only measure temperature of the patients, no one talks to those who apply for vaccination, they are not even asked basic questions about their state of health, which is normal in case of any medical procedures. The turmoil and confusion that the vaccinated residents of Ryazan are telling to each other increases the level of mistrust in vaccination.
The head of the Ryazan administration and the regional Ministry of Healthcare must overcome organisational chaos and improve the quality of medical services – this is the only way to accelerate the vaccination.
