The first stage on the formation of new compositions of territorial electoral commissions of the Kaliningrad region has come to an end. The Kaliningrad region branch of Yabloko applied for all nine vacancies in the territorial electoral commissions of seven urban districts of the Kaliningrad region. Only three were satisfied: in the territorial electoral commissions of the city of Kaliningrad.

Yabloko members Valentina Balashova (Territorial Electoral Commission of the Central District of Kaliningrad); Alexander Doronin (Territorial Electoral Commission of the Moscow District of Kaliningrad); Anna Steinbach (Territorial Electoral Commission of the Leningrad District of Kalinigrad) became members of territorial electoral commissions with a deciding vote. All of them are Yabloko party members and have already taken part in the first organisational meetings of their territorial electoral commissions.

The Regional Electoral Commission has also announced the acceptance of applications for filling a vacancy in the Territorial Electoral Commission in the city of Zelenograd with a decisive vote. The Kaliningrad branch of Yabloko notes that they are waiting for proposals from members and supporters of the party. The documents must be submitted by December 29.

It should be noted that elections to the State Duma and the Kaliningrad Regional Duma will be held in September 2021, on a single voting day (now three days). Also in 2021, the powers of the district councils of deputies of seven municipalities expire. Next year, according to the results of elections of deputies of representative bodies of local self-government, more than 120 mandates have to be replaced.

Elections will be held to the following bodies:

• the City Council of Deputies of Kaliningrad,
• the District Council of Deputies of the municipal formation “Bagrationovsk urban district”;
• the Guryevsk District Council of Deputies;
• the District Council of Deputies of the municipal formation “Krasnoznamensk urban district”;
• the Council of Deputies of the Neman urban district;
• the District Council of Deputies of the Mamonovo City District Municipal Formation;
• the District Council of Deputies of the municipal formation “Pravdinsk urban district”.
