Nikolai Rybakov laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier paying tribute to the vicitms of the Second World War
Press Release, 9.05.2020
Yabloko Chairman Nikolai Rybakov laid flowers at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier by the walls of the Moscow Kremlin in the Alexander Garden in memory of those who defended the country in the Second World War.
Dear friends,
May today’s Victory Day be quiet, calm and very personal. Let us recall all the family members and relatives who fought and who died, who was burnt by the war and who understands the main thing: never again!
Let us with our families take a look at photos in the family albums, honour the memory of the front-line soldiers who defended our country.
…The youth and war, the dreams and tears
All tied and tangled in one layer,
Were hiding in my soul for years
And then, untold, awoke much later!
Who can forget the frontline forties
The fighting, fate defying forces?
The war all over Russia burning,
And we, so young, for life were yearning!
(David Samolylov “The Forties”, translated by Olga Dumer)
May the Glory of the Heroes live forever!
Happy Victory Day!
Nikolai Rybakov,
Yabloko Chairman
