Press Release, 14.11.2019
Yabloko party, Emilia Slabunova, asked Denis Popov, Moscow Public Prosecutor, to check the work of Sergei Sobyanin, the Moscow Mayor. Back in July of this year, Slabunova asked the Mayor to explain why Moscow did not have a socio-economic development strategy which is must according to the federal law, but has still not received an answer.
Slabunova asked the Public Prosecutor to conduct an audit due to a violation of the terms for considering an appeal, as well as the fact that Moscow had no development strategy.
Yabloko Chair also repeatedly demanded that Alexei Shaposhnikov, Chairman of the Moscow City Duma, explain how the Moscow participated in the development of the strategy, as well as the timing and procedure for its development and adoption. In July, Slabunova appealed to the Moscow City Duma, but received no answer.
It should be noted that the Strategy for Spatial Development of Russia Until 2025 aiming to reduce differences in the level and quality of life in the regions of the country and accelerate economic growth and technological development, was approved by the government in February 2019. The prospective economic specialisations indicated in the document for each region will be taken into account when providing state subsidies and other measures of support to sectors of the economy in the regions.
