Yabloko demands that the State Duma annul the law that allows to withdraw property from citizens
Press release, 5.12.2018
The State Duma of the Russian Federation has passed through the first reading a draft of the federal law that will allow to withdraw land plots [from individuals] for governmental and municipal needs.
The bill introduced a number of new notion, including the integrated development of an area and a tight construction site. These provisions can be rendered freely.
The modern history of our country has seen many cases when privity property was illegally withdrawn from individuals. This process started when they adopted laws allowing to withdraw land for the construction of the facilities for the 2014 Sochi Olympics and the World Cup 2018. The withdrawal of property was often followed by protests of the local residents – a protest action is now taking place in Moscow’s Kuntsevo District when the Muscovites are being deprived of their private property as part of the housing renovation programme.
If the State Duma passes the law, municipal authorities will have the right to withdraw land plots without violating the legislation.
Yabloko has always stood up for the inviolability of private property. We insist that private property is a vital condition for the development of a socially responsible economy and the formation of the proprietary class in our country.
Yabloko Bureau callee upon the State Duma to reconsider the bill in the first reading and vote in down.
