Yabloko demands to release Alexander Shestun, head of the Serpukhov region, on his own recognizance and check the data from his video address to Putin

Yabloko demands that the measure of restraint to Alexander Shestun, head of the Serpukhov district of the Moscow region, is replaced by his written undertaking not to leave the country. Such a statement was issued by the Bureau of the party. Yesterday, the court arrested the politician for two months for his alleged abuse of office.
The criminal case and the arrest of Shestun are connected with his opposition activities, runs Yabloko’s statement. He has been consistently opposing the transformation of the Serpukhov municipal district into an urban district, and has been against the municipal reform of the Moscow region in the form it was proposed by Governor Andrei Vorobyov. Shestoun is also against exceeding the standards of waste disposal at the Lesnaya waste landfill, supports the protests of residents of the Moscow region against the improper use of garbage dumps.
Earlier, Yabloko Chair Emilia Slabunova sent appeals to Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Prosecutor General Yury Chaika and Chairman of the Investigative Committee of Russia Alexander Bastrykin demanding to investigate into the threats to the head of the Serpukhov district Alexander Shestoun.
Shestun told in a video message to Russian President Vladimir Putin about the threats from officials of the administration of the Moscow region, the administration of the President and the Federal Security Bureau. Head of the Serpukhov district claimed that he was forced to resign and not participate in the election of the head of the district, which will be held in September 2018.
