During the Christmas holidays Yabloko campaign headquarters managed to collect over 52,700 signatures out of 105,000 in support of Grigory Yavlinsky’s nomination for President.
According to Nikolai Rybakov, the head of Yavlinsky’s campaign headquarters, the pace of signature collection will grow after the holidays and the party activists will collect over 100,000 signatures in the three last weeks of the signature collection campaign. Yabloko plans to collect a large number of signatures to present the Central Electoral Commission with the signature lists, the validity of which cannot be disputed.
By 31 January, Yavlinsky must transfer to the Central Electoral Commission at least 105,000 voters’ signatures in favour of his nomination, whereas only 2,500 signatures per region is allowed. Activists of Yabloko are collecting signatures in 79 regions of Russia.
