Novosibirsk branch of Yabloko to conduct a rally for freedom of public protest

On 10 December, the Novosibirsk branch of Yabloko will conduct a a rally under a slogan “Novosibirsk for freedom of rallies!”. The aim of the action is to remind the authorities about Article 31 of the Constitution guaranteeing Russian citizens the right to assembly. The rally is dedicated to the International Human Rights Day on December 10 and Russian Constitution Day on December 12.
“We are calling all the public forces of the city and the region to unite. Let us make local authorities respect our right to peaceful protest! The authorities must realise that they must obey the law and the Constitution, and respect human rights so that we could all maintain order.
When the government stops solving the current issues we, the citizens, have to take to the streets to demand justice from high-ranking officials. But they are trying to gradually deprive us of this right by manipulating the legislation and using their privileged position.
The organisers of the action are calling all the political forces and civil activists to join the protest action.
