“Anti-Corruption Enforcement: Modern Technologies” book to be launched in St. Petersburg
On January 26, Mikhail Gorny will launch a book “Anti-Corruption Enforcement: Modern Technologies” which was published under his editorship. The event will take place within YABLOKO’s school of modern politics.
The book considers the corruption phenomena and anti-corruption enforcement, it defines such notions as corruption, administrative resource, conflict of interests, business takeover, recapture of state, corruptive extortion, transparency of government and public participation.
The books tells about types and forms of corruption, its causes and consequences and describes the major theories of corruption.
Special attention is paid to corruption in Russia. The books describes the features of corruption in Russia and professionals’ and leaderships’ views on anti-corruption enforcement. The book explains why anti-corruption enforcement in Russia brings no results at the moment.
The book suggests anti-corruption strategies focusing on the “awareness-prevention-suppression” strategy.
The book emphasizes the role of the civil society in fighting corruption.
The event will take place on January 26, at Ul. Shpalernaya 13.
