Press release, 14.10.2015
YABLOKO Chairman Sergei Mitrokhin, Secretary of YABLOKO Political Committee Galina Mikhaleva and the party activists laid flowers to the embassy of France in Moscow to commemorate the memory of terrorist attacks victims in Paris.
“We have come here to express solidarity with all the French people, express our deepest sorrow in connection with the death of the people, offer condolences to their nearest and dearest and say that the treat which has been thrown down to all the civilized world is very serious.
One cannot come apart in the face of this threat, one cannot put their narrow interests in the first place. One must create a very serious international front to fight terrorism. All those who participate in this struggle must coordinate their actions. If one doesn’t do it such tragedies will take place again. Nobody knows where the next tragedy may take place. It may take place in Russia. Today is a very important day when the humankind must start a new way of life – the civilized world must unite to fight terrorism,” noted Sergei Mitrokhin.
According to YABLOKO founder Grigory Yavlisnky, internatinal cooperation to fight against ISIS was the immediate task.
“Russia must immediately, without any preconditions, to fully join the coalition of 65 countries engaged in the fight against terrorism and act in a coordinated and responsible way,” Yavlinsky said.
“It is a terrible tragedy. We grieve deeply. To tell the truth, these feeling are hard to express – it is both anger, horror and fear for our future and the future of our children. This war cannot be localized. It is the war against international terrorists for whom human lives have no value. There are no rational arguments to fight them. The people of all countries who are ready to resist terrorism must unite,” said Galina Mikhaleva.
The activits of Moscow YABLOKO Youth are going to lay flowers to the French embassy in the next few hours.
