On 11 June, the Pskov City Court ruled that Deputy Chairman of the Yabloko Party Lev Shlosberg should be arrested until 8 August. Shlosberg is at home, under house arrest, deprived of access to a telephone, mail, and the Internet, he is also restricted in communication and movement.

At the hearing, Lev Shlosberg said:

The preventive measure in the form of a written undertaking not to leave would have been sufficient. First, everyone already understood that I would not run away, even without a bracelet. Second, I was always in contact with the investigators. There was not a single case when the investigator could not reach me or my lawyer.

In addition, 42 guarantees for my reliability from residents of Pskov and St. Petersburg were presented in court, many appeared in person in court. Even if there had been one guarantee, it would have been enough.

One of the alternative preventive measures we proposed was bail – the apartment where I, my wife and my father are registered and live.

But the judge decided to copy-paste the investigator’s demand, she [literally] said in court: “I copied what they gave me”.

I have nine court cases in which I am a party, either as a defendant or as a claimant. The court has deprived me of the right to use any means of communication, including telegraph. I cannot receive court notices. In fact, I have been prohibited communication even with the court due to this decision.”

It should be noted that a criminal case has been opened against Lev Shlosberg for repeated “discrediting of the army” due to debates with historian Yuri Pivovarov, in which the Shlosberg defended the position of the need for a speedy ceasefire.
