Past week, the regional branch of the Yabloko party in Yakutia held a conference of the party branch, and elected governing bodies of the regional branch for the next two years. Anatoly Nogovitsyn was re-elected Chairman of the branch.
Reporting on the work of the Yakutian Yabloko over the past two years, Anatoly Nogovitsyn noted that during this time the military conflict claimed many lives on both sides. “Despite the severe pressure we were subjected to because of our anti-war position – including criminal prosecution, searches and confiscation of property – we continued to convey the party’s position on the demand for an immediate ceasefire agreement and represented all citizens adhering to humanitarian views,” Nogovitsyn said.
Over the past two years, members of the regional branch of the party have gained valuable experience in participating in elections at the republican and municipal levels.
“Over the next two years, we will continue to talk about the importance of saving lives and restoring peace as quickly as possible. Peace will inevitably come, but how soon it will happen depends on us. We will work hard to bring this day closer,” Anatoly Nogovitsyn noted.
For the next two years the Yakutian Yabloko plans to participate in elections where possible so that “voices for peace can be heard”. “We will conduct awareness campaigns, organise meetings and discussions to attract more people to our movement. Our goal is to build a society in which every life is valued and where peace is a priority,” Anatoly Nogovitsyn concluded.
The conference also elected a deputy chairman, the Bureau and the Control and Audit Commission of the regional branch.
