Stop political repression! Freedom for political prisoners!
Resolution by the 22nd Yabloko Congress adopted on 10.12.2023, published on 25.01.2024
After the start of a special military operation and the adoption of laws punishing for “discrediting of the army” and “fake news” (essentially, the laws on military censorship), political repression against the dissent in Russia intensified.
The presence of political prisoners in the country confirms, like nothing else, the repressive nature of the system of monopoly power created in Russia, striving for the destruction of all freedoms and totalitarianism.
The Yabloko party demands the immediate release of all political prisoners through the use of all currently available legal mechanisms, the repeal of repressive laws adopted in recent years that have created a pseudo-legal basis for political persecution, the review of all politically motivated court decisions and the prosecution of all persons involved in adoption of such decisions.
Without the release of political prisoners, it is impossible to restore human rights and freedoms in Russia.
