Yabloko gets mandates in four city parliaments, including the city dumas of Yekaterinburg and Novgorod
Yabloko Chairman Nikolai Rybakov summed up the preliminary results of the elections of 8 – 10 September
Press Release, 10.09.2023
According to preliminary data, candidates from Yabloko were elected to the city dumas of Yekaterinburg, Novgorod, Krasnokamsk (the Perm Territory) and Yasnogorsk (the Tula Region). This was stated by Yabloko Chairman Nikolai Rybakov during a night briefing at the Yabloko election headquarters:
After processing 90% of the ballots in the elections to the Yekaterinburg City Duma, Yabloko receives about 23,000 votes. This is almost 10% of those who voted and almost twice as many as in the past elections to the Yekaterinburg City Duma [in 2018]. We can state with certainty already now that the Yabloko faction will be working in the city parliament of Yekaterinburg of the next convocation (as well as has been in the current one).
According to the count of ballots in 49 out of 92 polling stations, the result of the Yabloko party in the elections to the City Duma of Novgorod is currently 7.54%. According to preliminary data, Yabloko will continue working in the next convocation of the Novgorod City Duma.
Olga Kolokolova, a member of the Federal Bureau of the Yabloko party and the head of the Perm regional branch of Yabloko, won the elections to the Duma of Krasnokamsk (the Perm Territory) in her constituency.
Yabloko’s candidate, entrepreneur Marina Lesnikova, was elected to the Yasnogorsk City Assembly, the Tula Region, receiving 44% of the vote, she won in the five-mandate constituency. This is 10 – 20% more than share of votes received by the candidates from the ruling United Russia.
“I believe that we will be able to assess our result in these elections in the future. Because if we manage to bring peace closer by our election campaign “For Peace!” – that means that our work was not in vain. If we manage to save at least one human life with this election campaign, then everything that we – our candidates, volunteers, observers, and voters – have being doing for these months was not in vain,” Nikolai Rybakov concluded.
Update
Yabloko will have one more mandate in another council of deputies. Valentin Baymetov was elected to the Council of Deputies of the urban settlement of Miloslavskoye (a regional centre in the Ryazan region). He received 28% of the vote. Baymetov will be the fourth municipal deputy from Yabloko in the region.
