Yabloko candidates to compete for mandates in the City Duma of Shakhty, the Rostov-on-Don region

Two candidates from the Yabloko party intend to take part in the by-elections of deputies of the City Duma of the city of Shakhty, the Rostov-on-Don Region. The elections will be held in September.
Vitaly Fomin, 60, is running in single-mandate constituency No. 24. Fomin has worked as a locksmith, structural assembler, tiler, driver, and was also a self-employed entrepreneur, he is now retired. The candidate actively participates in the social and political life of Shakhty, defends the rights of citizens in the field of housing and utilities services and social welfare. In 2020, Vitaly Fomin participated in the elections to the City Duma and came third in his constituency, receiving about 14% of the vote. To register for this year’s elections, he needs to collect 39 signatures in his favour from residents of the district.
Nikita Demyon, a 19-year-old law student of the All-Russian State University of Justice, is running in single-mandate constituency No. 18. To register in the elections, Nikita needs to collect 38 signatures from residents of the district.
