Lev Shlosberg challenges his “foreign agent” status in court
He filed a lawsuit with the Pskov City Court

“Today, on 6 July, I personally filed a legal administrative claim with the Pskov City Court against the Russian Ministry of Justice so that to recognise unlawful their including me in the register of “foreign agents,” Lev Shlosberg, a member of the Federal Political Committee of the Yabloko party, wrote on his Telegram channel.
Lev Shlosberg’s claim contains the following demands:
– recognise as unlawful the inaction of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation on the failure to send a notification about the inclusion of information about Lev Shlosberg in the register of “foreign agents” in the period from 16.06.2023 to the date of the court decision on the present case;
– recognise as illegal the order of the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation dated 16 June, 2023, on the inclusion of information about Lev Shlosberg in the register of “foreign agents”;
– oblige the Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation to exclude information about Lev Shlosberg from the register of “foreign agents”.
It should be noted that the Ministry of Justice recognised Lev Shlosberg as a “foreign agent” on 16 June. Earlier, in December 2022, this status was assigned to Svetlana Gannushkina, a human rights defender and a member of the Federal Political Committee of Yabloko. Past week Andrei Morev, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow branch of Yabloko and the former head of the municipal council of the Yakimanka district of Moscow, was listed as a “foreign agent”.
