Over two hundred people are ready to stand surety for Vasily Neustroyev, including Nikolai Rybakov, Boris Vishnevsky, Sergei Mitrokhin, Emilia Slabunova and Lev Shlosberg

UPDATE: 8 June, 17:15. The court imprisoned Yabloko activist Vasily Neustroyev in a pre-trial detention centre. Such a measure of restraint was chosen for him for two months (until August 5), after which the court will be able to extend it or choose another measure.
The meeting of the Basmanny Court in Moscow on choosing a preventive measure for Vasily Neustroev will be held today, 8 June, at 14:00. Hundreds of people are confident in the innocence of Vasily Neustroyev. The defence will provide the court with statements of readiness to stand surety for Vasily.
Chairman of Yabloko Nikolai Rybakov, deputies of regional parliaments from Yabloko Maxim Kruglov, Sergei Mitrokhin and Vladimir Ryzhkov (Moscow), Emilia Slabunova (Karelia), Boris Vishnevsky (St. Petersburg), Artur Gaiduk (the Pskov region) ), municipal deputies from St. Petersburg (Ilya Kiselyov, Sergei Troshin and Dmitry Gorokhov), the Pskov region (Tatiana Pasman and Nikolai Kuzmin) and Moscow (Vasily Dikarev), member of the Federal Political Committee of Yabloko Lev Shlosberg, member of the Yabloko Bureau Kirill Goncharov , representatives of the party from other regions of Russia expressed their readiness to stand surety for Vasily Neustroyev.
The guarantee for Vasily Neustroev was also signed by Yuliy Rybakov, human rights defender and a former political prisoner in the USSR.
It should be noted that Recall that Vasily Neustroyev, Chairman of the local Yabloko branch in the Frunze district of St. Petersburg, is charged under six articles of the Criminal Code at once:
– Article 207.3, Part 2, items “b” and “d” – “public dissemination of deliberately false information about the use of armed forces” by a group of persons motivated by political hatred (up to ten years in prison);
– Article 212, Part 1.1 – “involvement in the organisation of mass riots” (up to ten years in prison);
– Article 239, Part 2 – “creation of an NGO infringing on the personality and rights of citizens” (up to six years in prison);
– Article 280.4, Part 3 – “public calls to carry out activities directed against the security of the Russian Federation” committed by an organised group (up to seven years in prison);
– Article 282.1, Part 1 – “creation of an extremist community” (up to ten years in prison);
– Article 354.1, Part 4 – “rehabilitation of Nazism” by prior agreement (up to five years in prison).
It should be noted that Vasily Neustroyev is only a member of the Yabloko party and has nothing to do with any other movements or organisations.
On 6 June, 2023, Neustroyev’s apartment in St. Petersburg was searched. On the same day, he was taken to Moscow for interrogation at the Main Investigation Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia.
