Yabloko candidates for deputies of the City Duma of Yekaterinburg presented their programmes

Last Sunday, candidates for deputies from the Yabloko party launched their election programmes and concepts of their election campaigns, and also answered questions from voters and the press. All party candidates will campaign under the slogan “FOR PEACE AND FREEDOM!”.
The candidates focused on the problems of their constituencies when [resenting their programmes and demonstrated good knowledge of local issues.
In total, the regional branch of Yabloko has about 30 people on its list of potential candidates for the elections to the City Duma of Yekaterinburg. There are well-known politicians and activists among the candidates, as well as those for who will run in an elections campaign for the first time. It should be noted that among the potential deputies from Yabloko there are two candidates of sciences: a department head of the Ural Federal University and the doctor of sciences, and a deputy director of the Institute of the Ural Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences.
Konstantin Kiselyov, an incumbent deputy of the Yekaterinburg City Duma from the Yabloko party, and Vladislav Postnikov, journalist, public activist, ex-candidate for the State Duma from Yabloko and a leader of the movement for the return of direct mayoral elections to Yekaterinburg, acted as experts at the presentation of the programmes of the candidates.
“It is important for us more than ever today to have a value identity with candidates, because the main slogan of Yabloko in these elections will be “FOR PEACE AND FREEDOM!”. Therefore, we will not nominate all candidates who wish to run from the party, but only those who would run under this slogan,” Maxim Petlin, Chairman of the Sverdlovsk Region branch of Yabloko, commented.
The final list of Yabloko candidates for deputies of the Yekaterinburg City Duma will be formed by 1 July: the conference of the regional department that has to nominate the candidates is scheduled for this date.
