The Yabloko Party University to host a lecture by Sergei Mitrokhin

On 8 June, the Yabloko Party University will host Sergei Mitrokhin’s lecture “The Tradition of Constituent Assemblies and Its Role in the Future Revival of Russia”. Sergei Mitrokhin is a member of the Federal Political Committee of the Yabloko party, a deputy of the Moscow City Duma, and Yabloko Chairman from 2008 to 2015, candidate of political sciences.
The tradition of constituent assemblies was born in in Russia in 1613, when the people of Russia determined their fate for the next 300 years. In 1918, it was destroyed, as it was an obstacle to the usurpation of power by Bolsheviks. As a result, all subsequent changes in the political system bore the stamp of usurpation. Restoring the tradition of constituent assemblies is necessary to establish a sustainable democracy in Russia with a reliable margin of legitimacy.
The lecture will be held at the central office of the party in Moscow on 8 June at 19:00. The address: Pyatnitskaya 31, building 2 (metro stations Tretyakovskaya or Novokuznetskaya). Registration is required.
In addition, the lecture will be streamed live on the YouTube channel of the Yabloko Party University.
