Deputies of the Yabloko faction of the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg Alexander Shishlov and Boris Vishnevsky submitted their income declarations in a personalised form. They did not hide their income from voters, despite the fact that the law no longer obliges them to do so. Alexander Shishlov and Boris Vishnevsky earned a total of over 7 million roubles for the two of them in 2022.

According to the declarations, the annual income of the leader of the faction Alexander Shishlov amounted to 3.7 million roubles. He owns 4/5 shares in an apartment of 104 square meters, as well as a Citroën C5 Aircross.

Boris Vishnevsky, deputy head of the faction, earned 3.5 million roubles last year. He owns half of an apartment of 82.9 square meters and an Opel Astra car.

At the end of March 2023, the Legislative Assembly of St. Petersburg adopted a law stipulating that deputies should submit their income declarations on the website of the Legislative Assembly in a generalised, non-personalised form. It will be impossible to find out what a particular deputy owns and how much he has earned. Previously, all declarations were posted annually on the website of the Legislative Assembly.

Alexander Shishlov stated that “closing income declarations of deputies from public is a step towards opposing society and power,” and promised to publish information about the income of members of the Yabloko faction in the open and personalised form as had been required before.

A similar rule was also introduced for the federal parliament. According to sources of the Vedomosti newspaper, deputies and senators are not going to declare their income and property in any way in an open form, even in an impersonal format.
