A launch of new collections of women’s prose and a meeting with writers to take place in Yabloko

A launch of new collections of women’s prose and a meeting with writers, critics and publishers will take place at the Yabloko office in Moscow on 18 April. The new collections of prose are “News of the Feminine”, “Girl on the Ball, or Dreams of Childhood” (the Russian Writers’ Union) and Nadezhda Azhgikhina’s book “Dreams” (AIRO-XXI). The anchors will be Svetlana Vasilenko, the First Secretary of the Russian Writers’ Union, and Nadezhda Azhgikhina, Director of PEN Moscow.
Authors Yelena Tarasova, Olga Kharlamova, Lidiya Grigoryeva, Rada Polishchuk, Sasha Nikolayenko, Natalya Rubanova, Eva Merkacheva, Maria Bregman, Marina Anashkevich, Asya Kosovskaya, Anna Gedemin, Alisa Ponikorovskaya, Saniya Shevaliyeva, Olga Sheptunova, Maria Kosovskaya, Asya Aksenova and Yelena Semenova, Natalia Ivanova, a literary critic and President of PEN Moscow, and Gennady Bordyugov, President of AIRO-XXI publishing house will participate in the meeting.
The literary movement New Women’s Prose, whose birth was announced by a group of young writers called New Amazons in their Manifesto in the early 1990s, immediately attracted the attention of critics and readers in Russia and abroad. Today the authors representing this movement are well-known and studied in many countries of the world. The Russian Writers’ Union will present a new series of collections of women’s prose, which include texts from both the founders of the movement and very young writers.
The event will take place at the office of the Yabloko party (Moscow, Pyatnitskaya 31, building 2) on 18 April at 18:00. Please register to participate.
