Past weekend, the Regional Council of the Sverdlovsk Region branch of Yabloko appointed the conference of the regional branch, which will put forward a list of Yabloko candidates for deputies of the Yekaterinburg City Duma. The conference will take place in June. Also the Council listened to the reports of deputies from Yabloko Konstantin Kiselyov (the City Duma of Yekaterinburg) and Vladimir Sevostyanov (the Duma of the Sukhoi Log City District) on the work done.

In addition, activists of the regional branch discussed the situation with the formation of precinct electoral commissions in April this year. Maxim Petlin, Chairman of the regional branch of Yabloko, accepts applications from everyone who shares Yabloko values and would like to become an electoral commission member from the Yabloko party so that to help defend voters’ rights and their votes.

After the Regional Council, the Sverdlovsk Region branch of Yabloko held an event with the participation of the Youth Yabloko and a team of social democrats from the Urals, dedicated to the concept of the image of the future of Yekaterinburg. The teams presented their concepts and, together with the audience, discussed how the city should develop and how to present this vision to the citizens in the upcoming election campaign.

“I got tremendous pleasure from how the discussion went, how free and open it was and, at the same time, very intellectual, and sometimes vividly emotional. Something reminded me of the “Press Club” of the 1990s”, Maxim Petlin commented.

Sverdlovsk Region branch of Yabloko expresses its gratitude to the teams and participants from the audience for the bright performances, and especially to architect Marina Sakharova, journalist Vladislav Postnikov, environmentalist Alexander Sazonov, Konstantin Kisel, an MP and Chairman of the Yabloko faction in the Yekaterinburg City Duma, and Alexander Kudelkin for moderating the event.
