On 19 January, leaders and activists of the Yabloko party will lay flowers at the site of the murder of lawyer Stanislav Markelov and journalist Anastasia Baburova, at Prechistenka 3 in Moscow.
Stanislav Markelov and Anastasia Baburova were shot dead by neo-Nazis from the Combat Organization of Russian Nationalists on 19 January, 2009.
“Yabloko activists come to the scene of the murder every year to remind that nationalism and its manifestations always end in tragedies, disasters, killings of civilians, people who are democratically oriented, people who want to see our country first of all as a European civilised country,” Kirill Goncharov, Deputy Chairman of the Moscow Yabloko, commented.
The participants of the action will gather at the Kropotkinskaya metro station at 12:00 and walk in procession along Prechistenka street to house No 3.
