On 8 December, another evening of writing letters to political prisoners was held at the Kirov branch of Yabloko. This time the action was dedicated to the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women.
Yabloko members, civil activists and Tatyana Naumovich, Chairwoman of Yabloko’s Gender Faction branch in the region participated in the action.
“Women are the most vulnerable to the repressive system of the state. They are more attached to children and older family members, as they traditionally take care of them. Therefore, they experience imprisonment more emotionally and need more support,” Svetlana Marina, an activist and participant in the action, said.
Nineteen letters and postcards were prepared and sent to the addressees at the action.
